Moreton Bay Farm Trail
Celebrating local farms, food and community
The Moreton Bay Farm Trail was a celebration of the incredible farmers, producers and food growers of our region.
✨Over three events, the Farm Trail invited the community to step behind the farm gate, meet local growers, discover where their food comes from, and experience the stories, passion and dedication behind our local food system.
While the event has now concluded, we are proud to reflect on the connections created and the impact it had in bringing our community closer to local food.

A celebration of our local food community
The Moreton Bay Farm Trail was created to connect people with the farms, farmers and producers who make our region such a special place.
Through the Farm Trail, visitors had the opportunity to explore local farms, meet passionate growers, discover sustainable farming practices and experience the many ways food is grown, produced and shared across our region.
Together, we celebrated:
🌱 Sustainable and regenerative farming practices
🥕 Local food production
🐝 Biodiversity and healthy ecosystems
🤝 The people who grow, make and share food in our region

Celebrating two years of connection and impact
Across three events, the Moreton Bay Farm Trail brought together thousands of people with local farms, producers and food experiences.
The Farm Trail achieved:
🌱 2,500+ tickets sold across three events
🚜 Multiple local farms opening their gates to welcome visitors and share their stories
🥕 25+ local vendors and producers showcasing regional food and products
🤝 New connections created between farmers, families and the wider community

Thank you to our community
The Moreton Bay Farm Trail would not have been possible without the incredible support of participating farms, producers, volunteers, sponsors and the wider community.
Thank you to everyone who opened their gates, shared their stories and helped bring this celebration of local food to life.
This initiative was proudly supported by the City of Moreton Bay, who provided funding and support to help bring the Farm Trail to the community. It was delivered in partnership with the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN).
The event was inspired and managed by Susanne Engelhard, Founder of Green Thumb Farm in Samford Valley, as part of her commitment to creating opportunities for people to reconnect with food, farming and their local community.

The journey continues
While the Moreton Bay Farm Trail has now concluded, the passion that inspired it continues through Green Thumb Farm — an educational community farm in Samford Valley focused on demonstrating how sustainable food growing heals the soil, boosts biodiversity, and builds climate resilience.
The Farm Trail was built on the belief that when people understand where their food comes from, they become more connected to their community and more empowered to make sustainable choices.
Today, Green Thumb Farm continues this work through hands-on experiences for people of all ages, including:
🌱 Farm Tours — explore our working regenerative farm and discover how healthy soil grows healthy food
🚜 Green Thumb Farm School — hands-on learning experiences for schools, including farm excursions, incursions and early learning programs focused on food, soil and sustainability
🥕 Farmgate Markets — connect with local produce, growers and our community every Saturday morning
🤝 Community workshops and events — build skills, share knowledge and grow together
